Trouble-shooting Help and Suggestions

Try these ideas first for troubleshooting. The solution may be an easy fix.

If they do not work, or if you have any concerns, comments or questions,
please call us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at (913) 764-9368.

Heating

  • Check that the air filter is not dirty and replace if necessary.
  • Check that there are no blockages in the return-air or air supply-air grill.
  • Make sure that furniture, boxes, etc. are not obstructing air flow.
  • Check that the room thermostat temperature selector is set above the house temperature as indicated on the thermostat and the system is in the "HEAT" position.
  • Check the blower access panel. It must be firmly in place for the unit to operate.
  • On gas furnaces equipped with electronic ignition, turn room thermostat "OFF". Wait five minutes then set the thermostat back to "HEAT" to reset the ignition system.
  • Check that the furnace power supply is "ON".
  • Check that the outdoor unit power is "ON".
  • Check the circuit breaker panel for a tripped breaker.
  • Read the start instructions on the side of the furnace.

Air Conditioning

  • Check that the air filter is not dirty and replace if necessary.
  • Check that there are no blockages in the return-air or air supply-air grill.
  • Make sure that furniture, boxes, etc. are not obstructing air flow.
  • Check that the room thermostat temperature selector is set below the house temperature as indicated on the thermostat and the system is in the "COOL" position. WARNING To avoid short circuiting the compressor, do not turn the thermostat on, off and back on immediately. Wait a few minutes.
  • Check the blower access panel. It must be firmly in place for the unit to operate.
  • Check that the furnace power supply is "ON".
  • Check that the outdoor unit power is "ON".
  • Check the circuit breaker panel for a tripped breaker.

Plumbing and Water Heating

  • If your hot water heater is electric and producing no hot water, check the circuit breaker.
  • If your hot water heater is gas, check to make sure the pilot light has not gone out.
  • If the water is not hot enough, check that the thermostat is not set too low on the water heater. Be careful not to turn up beyond recommend settings as you could very easily burn yourself in the shower.
  • If you have a clogged drain, please call us and we can advice suggestions or set up a service call. Sometimes over the counter drain products will help, but over use (if not working) can be wasteful, dangerous and non-effective.
  • If you have a water leak please call us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is best to fix these problems immediately.
